We’ve got answers…

What exactly is Castle Bluff?

Castle Bluff is a faith based group retreat camp founded in 1981 and located in the heart of the Ozark Mountains of Arkansas. We are just a few minutes away from the Buffalo National River, world class hiking and rock climbing, and the quaint mountain town of Jasper, Arkansas. Our camp can support smaller groups of just a few adults, all the way up to large groups of 100+ students.

What are the booking rates?

Our rates vary depending on the specific needs of our guests. Please send us an email at info@castlebluff.org and we will be glad to send you our standard rate list and give you a specific quote to meet your needs.

Is the camp safe?

Safety is extremely important to us at Castle Bluff. Our camp is located on a bluff line, and there is a risk of falling near the cliffs, so we encourage our guests to be careful when enjoying the view. We have a barrier cable all along the bluff line to help prevent guests from getting too close.

What about bears?

We are located deep in the Ozark mountains, and bears have been spotted from time to time, but we’ve never had an incident with them in over 40 years. They prefer to steer clear of us, and we appreciate that :)

What are the accommodations like?

Take a look through the photos page to get a better idea of what the spaces are like. The Summit Lodge is very comfortable, and Shiloh hall is much more rustic. If you want a truly adventurous experience, ask us about the batcave…

Will there be a camp host on site during our visit?

Yes! We always make sure to have a host on site throughout the duration of your stay with us. Your host will arrive before your party and will stay until after the last guest has departed.

How does food situation work?

Most guests bring all their own food and prepare all their own meals during their stay with us. The Summit Lodge has a large, well equipped kitchen to meet all your culinary needs. If you need help with cooking, or if you would like us to coordinate a chef to come and handle everything for you, we can make that happen too.

What is there to do at and around camp?

Check out our adventure page to see a list of fun activities at your disposal. We are happy to coordinate adventures outside of camp with a large number of trusted local outfitters.

Who runs Castle Bluff?

Castle Bluff is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization registered and insured in the state of Arkansas. Click here to see our current board of directors.
